The Scripps Research Institute is one of the most prominent research centers in the area. It has contributed a lot in the health and medical field, and it has listed some of its breakthroughs in their website. Among them include:

"Breakthroughs in studies of: (1) ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE, finding diverse genomic changes in single neurons from the brains of Alzheimer's patients, pointing to an unexpected factor that may underpin the most common form of the disease.
