The modern home has as much remote control as the gadgets in it. And when one only has one screen to look at but would need separate controllers for the games, the sounds, the channels, the cable and the like, confusion, even annoyance will set in.
Enter the universal remote control which could just resolve all these dilemmas and more.
Wired.com shared this new universal remote control that is, according to them, could be a promising solution for many households. Builders and Contractors

“the $200 remote is meant to be a single, sensible interface for your house and everything in it. To start, that means streamlining and automating home entertainment. The remote’s makers claim it can control 30,000 products out of the box. That covers all major AV gear made in the last decade, including TVs and sound systems, cable boxes from the likes of Comcast and Time Warner, set top boxes like Apple TV and Roku, and other popular products like Sonos speakers and Phillips Hue light bulbs.”

Some apps though could turn your phone into a universal remote control as shared by the website Gizmodo. Electricians  “Controlling your home theater system used to be easy—you simply told your kid to turn the knob and presto, Honeymooners. But today’s home theater packed with feature-rich TVs, cable boxes, AV receivers, and streaming boxes—and all demanding their own remotes—there’s no way the little guy can keep up. Instead, replace your pile of remotes with an app that does everything they can do and more.”

Video gaming enthusiasts also have something to smile about as play station came up with a universal remote control as shared in their website. “uses Bluetooth to control PS4 and can also be set up to control up to three additional devices, including a TV, cable box and audio receiver. It also features many of the most important buttons for navigating system menus and entertainment apps on PS4 including the Action buttons (triangle, circle, cross, and square). Like DualShock 4, the remote also features the SHARE, OPTIONS, and PS buttons.”
